
QUEZON CITY, June 11, 2025 — In line with the swift and responsive public service thrust of the Chief, Philippine National Police (CPNP), PGEN NICOLAS TORRE III, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) under the leadership of PCOL RANDY GLENN G SILVIO, DDDA/OIC, successfully conducted a buy-bust operation through the District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU), resulting in the arrest of a drug peddler and the confiscation of more than Php354,000 worth of shabu.
PMAJ ELVIN BALLESTEROS, Chief of DDEU, identified the suspect as alias “Alberto,” 56 years old, and a resident of Brgy. San Vicente, Quezon City.
According to the report, at around 5:45 PM on June 10, 2025, DDEU operatives, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – National Capital Region (PDEA-NCR), conducted a buy-bust operation along University Avenue corner Manatili Area, Maayusin Extension, Brgy. San Vicente, Quezon City. A police officer acted as a poseur buyer and purchased Php35,000 worth of shabu from the suspect. Upon the execution of the pre-arranged signal, the suspect was immediately apprehended.
Recovered from the suspect were 52.1 grams of shabu valued at Php354,280.00, a cellular phone, and the marked buy-bust money.
Meanwhile, verification through the Investigation Solution Automatic Verification (ISAV) system revealed that “Alberto” had previous records for similar violations in March and July 2021.
The suspect will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
